this first image is of our lovely nibbles once we had settled into our holiday house in Martinborough, a short drive from Wellington….over a very windy mountain ( which Chris managed with her usual driving flair ).

the town is small, but there are a number of nice places to eat at…..i

ncluding a nice selection at the local pub. Est restaurant is a nice place for a mezze plate, especially with some nice local wine.

after the shock of discovering that there was no internet access around we had to take comfort in being surrounded by wineries and lovely cheese….this made it easier to cope.

Our first stop was at the Ata Rangi winery, the cellar was a little crowded to be honest, but it was well presented and wine was drinkable.
